Sukhbinder

I began my journey as an aeronautical engineer. Discovered computing as a problem solving tool and have sticked to it ever since. Started with fortran programs to design mixed flow compressors and other gas turbine components, picked up vba to automate solidworks and ms office applications along the way. Learnt Java, Perl, Python on the way to overcome the shortcomings of fortran to create scientific engineering computational applications.

I have learnt a lot from this vast resource called internet and generosity of so many folks on the Internet. This blog is an attempt to give something back to the community.

I post about gas turbines, aerospace, fortran and many other things on this blog. Most popular posts on this blog are tutorials on how to create fortran dll with intel, Creating a gif in matlab and there are lot of free stuff available to take home.

As one quote in my collection states, take whatever is relevant, add whatever is applicable and discard the rest.

Thanks for reading. If you need to contact me, please feel free to email sukh2010 at yahoo dot com and at

And if you are wondering why I dabble in so many small and random projects, here’s my try for an answer.

  2. Hey Sukhbinder.. This blog is cool.. I have learned a lot about new features in fortran 90 and above.. I still see serious fortran programmers these days when people try to move to other scientific softwares like matlab etc.. If you find time can you throw some light on parallel programming in newest versions of fortran..
