Discover Some Useful Python Numpy Functions

It’s always true. Unless you actually work on something, you don’t get to the practical stuff.

I have been dabbing with numpy in python for a year now but all this was academic until the time I actually used it in a recent project.

And during this time, found some practical functions of numpy that make life easier.

Scientific notation is great but to present the data in to a wider audience, short format wins hands down, so here’s the numpy commands to do just that.

np_setprintoptions(precision=2)
np_setprintoptions(suppress=True)

And discovered the following useful functions.

np.argsort()
np.flipud()

Useful if you are dealing with np arrays!!

This post is incomplete, I intend to update this page as I learn more. Over to you? What useful functions have you discovered?

Need a matlab like plot3d command in python, visit this page.
